Gas Cylinder Disposal & Decommissioning
Old, damaged, out-of-date or unidentified gas cylinders can't go in a skip. We recover them from anywhere in Ireland, deal with whatever gas is still inside, decommission the cylinder and recycle the metal — and give you the paperwork to prove it was done properly.
Why old cylinders need a specialist
A gas cylinder is a pressure vessel. Even a cylinder that's been sitting in the corner of a yard for twenty years can still hold residual gas at pressure — flammable, oxidising, toxic or simply unknown. Scrap yards and recycling centres won't accept them, and for good reason: a cylinder going through a shredder or a furnace with gas still inside is a serious incident waiting to happen.
Because we test, refurbish and fill cylinders every day, we have the equipment, the trained staff and the compliance in place to handle the ones that are past saving. Every cylinder is identified, made safe, decommissioned so it can never be refilled, and the steel, aluminium and brass recovered for recycling.
Where a cylinder still belongs to a gas supplier and can be returned, we'll tell you — and can repatriate it to its owner rather than charge you to destroy it.

Hazardous gases
Flammable, oxidising, inert, toxic and corrosive gases — acetylene, oxygen, propane and LPG, CO2, nitrogen, argon, helium, welding mixtures, refrigerants and fire suppression agents. Unlabelled and unidentified cylinders are handled as hazardous until proven otherwise.
Cylinder recovery
Nationwide collection of end-of-life, failed-test, orphaned and abandoned cylinders from industrial sites, workshops, farms, recycling centres, building clearances and business closures. Single cylinders to full pallet loads.
Gas management
Contents are identified and residual gas is safely vented, recovered or transferred using the correct equipment for that gas. Nothing is released to atmosphere that shouldn't be, and nothing goes to the decommissioning bay under pressure.
Decommissioning
Valves removed, cylinders purged and rendered permanently unusable so a condemned cylinder can never find its way back into service. Test markings are struck through in line with the applicable standard.
Recycling
Steel and aluminium cylinder bodies and brass valves are segregated and sent for metal recycling, keeping material in circulation instead of in a yard or a landfill.
Documented disposal
A certificate of disposal listing each cylinder by serial number, type and gas, confirming it has been decommissioned and recycled. Ready for your asset register, insurer, auditor or environmental returns.

Tell us what you have
Send us a rough count, the cylinder types and where they are — photos help, especially for unlabelled cylinders. We'll quote and book a collection date. Cylinders that can be returned to their owner are flagged at this stage.
Collected & made safe
Collected on our own ADR-compliant transport, then identified, depressurised and purged at our Kilmallock facility. Fire suppression and specialist cylinders are handled by the same trained team that tests them.
Decommissioned & certified
Cylinders are permanently decommissioned, the metal recycled, and you receive a certificate of disposal itemising every cylinder for your records.
Compliant from your yard to ours
The only facility in Ireland that is ISO 18119, TPED and ADR compliant and equipped to handle fire suppression system cylinders.
Road transport
Fully compliant for the carriage of dangerous goods by road. Your cylinders are legal from the moment they leave your site.
Transportable pressure equipment
We work under the Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive, so we know exactly which cylinders can go back into service and which can't.
Inspection & testing
The same standard we test to tells us when a cylinder is condemned — and how it must be rendered unserviceable.
